If you’re a fan of Sephora, reading product reviews on blogs/social media, or keeping up with new trends in skincare, then I’m sure you’ve already heard about a brand named Drunk Elephant. In case you haven’t heard about this brand, they believe in the benefits of clean, additive free skincare, and have seriously cute product packaging.
I’ll be honest when I say I really wanted to buy products from this skincare line a long time ago, but it seemed too expensive to just try out. That’s why when I saw that they were selling the raved-about skincare line in mini sets, I had to get my hands on them.
I decided to start my Drunk Elephant skincare trial with the Night Bright Duo (contains the night serum and facial oil) and the Rise and Glow Duo (contains the hydration gel and day serum).
Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum
This night serum is formulated with a blend of acids and plant extracts that help lift away dead skin cells gently in order to smooth and resurface skin. Sounded too good to be true for me, but when I started to use the Glycolic Night Serum I could tell a difference with only a few uses. It seriously started to smooth out my skin so products went on better during the day, and little by little I have seen a difference in some of the texture around my cheeks. Surprisingly this night serum didn’t cause any dryness, irritation, or flareups to my rosacea.
Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil
I’ve tried a lot of different facial oils in the past, and I’ll be honest when I say I don’t always notice a difference in one working better than another. I think this Luxury Facial Oil is very luxurious (especially at this price point), but it is rightfully so. When I started using this in the miniature size, I couldn’t tell much of a difference compared to another oil, but once I ran out of my first bottle I instantly missed it. I use this oil for both my day and night time routine, and especially at night it pairs so well with the Glycolic Night Serum. The one benefit I see with this oil is that it has helped keep my skin so hydrated for longer periods of time, and it actually stays on my face in a non-greasy/sticky/I just want to wipe this off my skin type of way.
Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel
This little guy packs a punch of hydration with only a little bit of product. It’s formulated with vitamins, and multi-tasking ingredients to help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as provide long lasting hydration to your skin. I think I really enjoyed having this product in my morning regimen, but I feel it’s one of those products that I am using preventatively, so I won’t be noticing a huge difference in anything other than hydration for a while. It’s not my favorite out of the whole line of Drunk Elephant products, but I would definitely repurchase it during the colder/dryer months.
Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum
I was once told because I have rosacea, I should not use a Vitamin C serum, so I was truly a little hesitant to give this guy a go when it game in the Rise and Glow Duo. However this Vitamin C serum is packed with antioxidants, fruit enzymes, and vitamins to help fight off damage, dullness, and dark spots, so I had to at least give it a try. With my own experience I found that it didn’t irritate my skin at all, and it did not flare up my rosacea symptoms. In fact, I actually really enjoy this product in the morning before a moisturizing cream, because I’ve noticed some of the texture on my cheeks clearing up, and my skin’s overall ‘tone’ looks better (less blotchy and red).
After making my way through each mini bottle I definitely am a believer in this skincare line. It has done so much for my skin, in such a short amount of time, I can’t even imagine the results if I stuck to it with normal size bottles. Although my wallet doesn’t agree that I need these products, I have already re-purchased the T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, and I ended up trying the Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream (which is seriously hydrating, while being light weight).
I love this skincare line so much, and even just with the small bottles can see a difference in my skin’s texture and overall appearance. I think on my next skincare splurge I’ll restock the minis for traveling purposes, and maybe even try out the cleansing bars! If you’ve tried Drunk Elephant products before, what did you think/if you have a favorite product, let me know in the comments below!
Until next time,
Paige
