REN | Evercalm Anti-Redness Serum

If any of you have been following me for a little bit of time, you should know that I love skincare, and I am always looking for the next best thing to make my skin healthier and appear better. You would also know that I have rosacea, a condition where my skin is either permanently red, or gets red and blotchy extremely fast. As I’ve gotten a little older, and done some damage to my skin, my rosacea has gotten worse and now certain parts of my face, my nose in particular, are always red.

Because I hate walking around looking like I just cried or like I’m Rudolf, I constantly cover up my redness with foundations or creams. I would say that in the past couple of years I have been so much better protecting my skin from the damage of the sun, or other flares that cause redness to my skin (alcohol, excessive cardio, spicy foods, etc), but I am still on the search for products that will help heal/fix/help my current redness situation. Enter REN’s Evercalm Anti-Redness Serum. I first spotted this product on Sephora’s website, I read a ton of reviews, I researched some of the ingredients, and I took the plunge to try it… what did I have to lose?

Keep on reading to see how the product held up, and for a full review…

REN Evercalm Anti-Redness Serum

Product: REN Evercalm Anti-Redness Serum

Claims: This product claims to reduce inflammation, redness, and irritation. It says it will fight against UV-induced damage, and boost the skins hydration.

Ingredients worth mentioning:
– Milk polypeptide from milk protein (calms skin and strengthens skin’s lipid barrier)
– Beta gluten from yeast polysaccharide (calms skin and soothes redness)
– Tyrosine inhibitor from wild canadian rumex (protects blood vessels and reduces hyperpigmentation)
– Hyaluronic acid from yeast (boosts hydration and plumps skin)

How to use: Apply morning and night under day/night moisturizing creams

Cost: $46 (1.02oz)

Product: The serum is a milky white color, having a thin consistency that dries fast on the skin.

Packaging: This product is in a clear bottle, which is nice to see what product you have left, and it comes with a pump applicator to make daily use easier.

Other info: The serum is formulated without mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic fragrances/colors, and silicones.

Overall review: I really like this product! At first I was honestly skeptical, because my nose has become so red that it’s showing through even my fullest coverage foundations, but within about one week I noticed a difference on the sides of my nose and on my cheeks. When I wake up my skin is clearer and less blotchy, and when I do have a red flare from a trigger, I notice that my skin bounces back to being fair and pale sooner. When I normally would get out of the shower and stay red for an hour, I am now noticing clearer complexion right away, as well as less inflammation on my cheeks.

While I do notice that if I skip a day of applying this, I am more blotchy, I am willing to have this as a staple in my routine if the results have been this great so quickly. I am considering purchasing some other products from REN’s Evercalm line, such as the cleanser and moisturizing cream, but I think I want to give the serum some more time to work rather than change my whole skincare routine overnight.

Has anyone else tried any of REN’s products, or specifically the Evercalm line? I know I am loving this product so far, and I think I will continue to buy it to help with my daily rosacea. In the meantime, if anyone has any helpful products, tips, or tricks to help with rosacea and redness, let me know!

Until next time,
