Things may come and go, but you always keep backups of your favorite products. That’s how I feel about certain beauty or makeup finds these days. I used to go out of my way to try the newest high-end makeup products that were being recommended, but it really took a toll on my bank account. Now, I’d rather find staple drugstore products that get the job done just as good, so that I can have easy and cheaper everyday looks. Don’t get me wrong, I still splurge on a few things here or there, but my wallet and I are glad to find great products at better prices.
L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
There’s not too much I can say when talking about a mascara because you either love it or hate it. I for one love this mascara. It makes my lashes more volumized and separated, and with multiple coats I feel they look longer and full without the spikey or clump effect. I can honestly say I will continue to repurchase this L’Oreal mascara because it’s a more affordable option ($9.99 at Ulta) and, in my opinion, very similar to the Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara (which I love). There are four shades available for this product, and it also comes as a waterproof mascara.
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation
If you need a foundation that’s affordable that can be both full coverage and natural looking, look no further. This Dream Matte Mousse Foundation covers up all of my redness from rosacea without having a cake effect, and it lasts long throughout the day when set with a powder. The matte finish is nice and natural, not drying at all, and it’s so light-weight on the skin I almost forget I have makeup on. I’ve tried other products in this collection and I like them, but I always come back to this one regardless. Ulta has this foundation listed as $8.99 and it is available in 12 shades.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
If you need a medium coverage concealer just to spot correct or use as an under eye brightener, this will work wonders. I’ve gone through a ton of these tubes and it never lets me down. This concealer is lightweight, easily blended, buildable, and natural looking. Most days when I’m not wearing makeup I’ll just throw a little bit of this concealer on to cover a few spots, and I head out the door without worrying. It’s reliable, and better yet it’s dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested, fragrance free, and safe for sensitive skin. Ulta has this product listed at $6.99 and it is available in 6 shades.
Essence Lip Liner
I love a good bargain or sale. So when I find reliable products that are always priced ridiculously low, but perform like something 10x it’s cost, I get excited. These Essence Lip Liner’s fall in to that category. The liners come in 8 shades and are $1.99 at Ulta. Now that I’ve got your attention with that price, you can go and purchase them all! I just think for a pencil liner they’re pretty creamy, don’t tug at my lips, and last a long time. Although you’d have to reapply throughout the day, I feel like it’s comparable to a higher end product, and that’s just something you’d have to sacrifice when you’re saving some money. I normally use these as all over color on my lips for fall, my favorites being Soft Berry and Satin Mauve.
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
This bronzer by Physicians Formula is infused with Murumuru Butter, and is so soft and easily blended; I use it as both an eye shadow and a bronzer most days. My favorite part, other than it giving a nice glow to the skin, is that it smells like summer. Although scents can sometimes be off-putting, this one does not bother me at all! Even better for those with sensitive skin, this bronzer is non-comedogenic, dermatologist approved, hypoallergenic, and is paraben, gluten, oil, and cruelty free. This bronzer comes in two shades, Light Bronzer and Bronzer, and is listed as $14.99 at Ulta.
Well there you have it! 5 products I can’t seem to get away from currently at the drugstore. I’m sure the list will change, especially throughout the years, but I’ve been fixated on these for a while, and wanted to share. Do the same down below if you have favorite products you always repurchase!
Until next time,
Paige
